Dear Jasper Elementary Community,

The cold weather is here!  Please remember to bundle up those children each day for school.  The students are outside for recess, going to and from classes, and pick-up in the morning and afternoon.  The cold weather brings lots of lost coats, gloves, and hats to the playground, lunchroom, and halls of our school.  Please be sure to check the lost and found area located in the Historic Building, if your child is missing any items.  Children are often forgetful about their coats, backpacks, and lunch boxes so please write your child's name with a permanent marker in the label of your child's jacket and the inside of backpacks/lunch boxes.  This is such an easy way to ensure return of a student's belongings.  We already have numerous items in the lost and found area.

The Perfect Attendance Incentive for this nine weeks is a visit to Lee Newton Park on November 7th.  This is for students that received Perfect Attendance for the first nine weeks.  Our students are doing a great job being at school.  JES won the county banner for this nine weeks!  The students are excited about keeping his/her name on the wall in the front lobby.  We will continue to have an incentive each nine weeks for those students that do not miss a day during the nine weeks.  Every student has an opportunity to receive this recognition because they start with a clean slate every nine weeks.  So please encourage your child to be at school every day.  Remember that school begins at 8:00 and please do not check out early unless absolutely necessary!  We are learning from 8:00 - 3:00 everyday!

We have just celebrated Bus Driver Appreciation Day.  We have wonderful bus drivers.  Please encourage your child to remember how to behave on the bus as they leave home every morning.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns please call or come by my office.  Enjoy the upcoming holidays with your family and be ever so mindful of the many blessings that we are fortunate to have at Jasper Elementary School!

Text Box: Dear Jasper Elementary Family,
Fall is upon us as the leaves are changing colors and the temperatures are dropping. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. As I make my mental list of things I am thankful for this year I include the privilege of being a part of the lives of 519 wonderful boys and girls at Jasper Elementary. Thanksgiving is time that we think of family and togetherness. Remember to make every day the best it can be. Encourage your children to make a list of those things they are thankful for during this season.
We want to be sure you know about all the activities planned at school, so read your child’s newsletter each week, read this newsletter that the administration sends out each month, check out the new and improved school and county website, PowerSchool and Accelerated Reader for other information you might be interested in that concerns your child.
Thank you for all of your support,
Dr. Nonnie Weeks
Principal

To keep our staff well, we will not be opening car doors on

mornings when the temperature is less than 35 degrees.

They will be at the front door welcoming the students as they arrive.
